Reuniting Mark with his children

Rafton Family Lawyers were able to assist our client Mark in an application to locate the whereabouts of his former partner and young children. Mark worked as a fly in fly out worker and was away for up to fourteen days at a time.

On his return back to the Sydney area he was advised that the children had been removed from their pre school and school and that the mother had relocated interstate without notice to him. Despite repeated attempts to try to locate the mother he was not successful in making any arrangements to find out the whereabouts and was eventually referred to Rafton Family Lawyers by a friend who had already received assistance in a parenting matter. Rafton Family Lawyers team were able to apply for a Commonwealth location order which provided details to the Solicitor team to serve documents on the mother compelling her to appear via telephone in our Court application. During the course of settlement discussions and mediation we were able to successfully negotiate arrangements for Mark to spend time with his children.

There was also an Order made that any further move by the mother a change of address or telephone number was to be notified to Mark within seven days of such change occurring.

Mark is now continuing to exercise regular time with his children also known as “contact”.
